Sydney's family was hit by a 12-ton garbage truck in the living room last night.

 02 May 2018

Last night, a garbage truck crashed into the living room of a Lilyfield family in Sydney`s inner west side.

Just before 6 p.m., the driver got out of the car to empty the dumpster and the truck rolled forward and nearly hit two children in the house, police said.

Neighbor Dale Cook (Dale Cook) told Channel 7 last night that the truck destroyed everything along the way.

"the 12-ton garbage truck crashed into a car, a RV and a boat. It went out of control and rushed into the living room," he said. "fortunately, the kids in the living room are fine, but they`re totally freaked out, and if you have a 12-ton truck in your living room, you`ll be scared, too."

Other drivers who passed the scene stopped this morning (Thursday) to see what was going on.

Laura Vera (Lara Vella) of Today said on Twitter this morning: "the other garbage truck drivers looked at the huge mess caused by the accident."

Last night, the 35-year-old driver of the garbage truck returned to the driver`s seat, but the truck continued to roll down the street and hit a boat, a RV and a car on Gladstone St.

Police say another ship was damaged as a result of being hit by a RV. A 10-year-old boy and a 15-year-old girl were safe and sound at home. The truck driver was also uninjured, but was taken to the hospital for blood and urine tests.

Police have begun an investigation and will test the truck to determine whether it is performing properly.

Police called on the accident`s insider to contact the crime hotline at 1800 333,000.
