China Festival in Rural Australia
After coming home in late February for a year, I heard that Yangzhen (Young) was hosting the China Festival on March 24. By coincidence, when I first came to Australia last year, I arrived in Dayang Town on the evening of the first day, and the next day was the Chinese Festival here. It was a local old man who took me there. The festival is also a dragon dance and lion dance, playing gongs and drums is very lively. This is also the first time I have experienced the Chinese Festival, just from China after the Spring Festival came to Australia, suddenly there is such a China Festival, there was really a domestic illusion.
As a Chinese living in Australia, whether living in Australia for a long time or a new arrival, there is always a homesickness in the heart. Even living in picturesque Australia.
There are few Chinese friends who have lived in Sydney without knowing Yangzhen, because many Chinese come here every year to pick cherries. Hand-picked cherry not only high-quality but also very fresh, but also cheaper than the supermarket half the price.
On the other hand, in addition to cherries, there is also a history of Chinese gold mining here. In 1860, many Chinese from Siyi, Guangdong, came to Young to seek gold. Because of the interests of conflict, European miners expelled Chinese from this land. At the beginning of the 21st century, local government began to hold Lambing Flat festival, festivals a few years ago in honor of pioneers who had made contributions to this land and changed their name to Lambing Flat Chinese Festval, a few years ago. The festival began to be commemorated mainly by Chinese miners and other miners from all over the world.
China Festival is sponsored by the local government organization, each year there will be dragon and lion dance, as well as Chinese traditional musical instruments, traditional martial arts performances, every year many local people and tourists to participate in the festival. In addition, there will be Asian snack stalls, Asian art stalls, Chinese traditional cultural exhibition area and so on. This year, there will be a pancake fruit stand on the festival, long living in the Australian countryside can not eat the Chinese cuisine, I heard there are pancake fruit has been too greedy to wait. Visitors can enjoy the festive atmosphere while enjoying Chinese performances.
This year's China Festival also includes Chinese cultural experience areas, including trying on Chinese clothing / calligraphy experience / tea art / traditional Chinese painting / traditional Chinese medicine acupuncture exhibition / Taiji experience display and so on. Personally, this is also more attractive.
Young China Festival to this year has been several times, last year a lot of photo are missing, from the site to find a few representative. By the way, I found a few previous years of photo, I think it is quite interesting. Looking forward to this year's China Festival, in addition to dragon and lion dance, this year's cultural display experience area, is the most anticipated.
Time friends may as well take a look, it is Saturday, together with their family to see how much Chinese taste Tuao China Festival.
