The abortion Protection of Women Act will pass the legislation to protect the female or to suppress the freedom of speech?

 07 Jun 2018

The "Pro-life" group will be banned from gathering within 150 meters of the abortion clinic, which is being criminalized by law in the new state parliament.

Former Deputy Prime Minister Barnaby. Joyce (Barnaby Joyce) contacted his National Party colleagues in several states to lobby them to vote against it, making the last attempt to repeal the bill.

9NEWS learned, Barnaby. Joyce has contacted MP Trevor Khan, who co-sponsored the bill, along with Congressman Tamworth Kevin. Anderson。

"people know I`m always against abortion," Joyce said. "it`s my unchanging position."

"I never put my personal views in public documents. I just said it privately."

John Barilaro, the New South Wales National Party leader, also supported the bill, as did the majority of the National Party.

"Barnaby can do whatever he wants, and I`m proud of the safe access Act." He said。

The legislation Parliament is in the process of discussing the safe access Act (Safe Access to Reproductive Health Clinics). The bill would place a 150-meter exclusion zone around the abortion clinic, making it a criminal offence for anti-abortion demonstration activists to gather in the area.

Supporters of the bill say it is a basic social etiquette that protects women from harassment when entering clinics.

Governor Gladys Berejiklian will vote for the change of law and give his party a vote of conscience on the issue.

Some conservative government councillors say they will vote against it, saying it weakens religious freedom of speech.

"abortion is never the right thing to do because it involves unborn babies, and abortion is never the right behavior for babies," said Riverstone Senator Kevin Conolly. Sydney`s Episcopal and Catholic archbishops also strongly opposed the bill, lobbying members of parliament to vote against it.

Catholic Archbishop Anthony. In a letter to members of Congress, Fisher (Anthony Fisher) argued that the new bill was "too far."

"does Parliament not intend to make such a law for churches or other businesses? Why not? Is New South Wales sacred only in abortion clinics? " Said Archbishop Fisher.

Most Reverend`s Dr. Glenn Davis, Dr. (Glenn Davies), insists the law is considered a crime by dissenting. "people`s objections are based on moral, religious or conscientious objections to abortion, and the bill makes people`s freedom of speech illegal," Dr. Davis said.

The bill is expected to pass the legislation later on June 7.
