What should we do after the expiration of Australia's PR for five years? Most Chinese don't know

 14 Jul 2018

A lot of people do their best and work hard and spend millions of dollars just to get the status of an Australian PR.

But did you really get the Australian PR once and for all? Today, Kopu-Jun is going to give you an analysis: PR said that it is also a kind of visa, which is valid for a period of five years. During this period, you can travel to and from Australia at will, unless you bring contraband into the country or you are sentenced to imprisonment for more than 12 months. Otherwise, PR's permanent status can always be retained.

But five years later, things are different.

Five years after getting the PR, people generally have the following options:

Someone may be curious, so why is it called a permanent residence visa?

The fundamental nature of PR is a visa that can be renewed indefinitely. After five years of holding PR, the visa that needs to be reprocessed is an Australian resident's return visa, (Resident Return Visa).

A person applying for an RRV visa is required to meet any of the following identities:

According to the current policy, the RRV is divided into five, one and three months-

1, 5 years (Subclass 155)

An applicant who has lived in Australia for up to two years during the five years prior to the submission of the application will receive a 5-year-long RRV.

Or the applicant has not lived for 2 years, but can prove that he or she has a commercial, cultural, employment or personal connection and is beneficial to Australia.

Or, the applicant is a member of the family of the holder of the RRV or the person eligible for the application.

21 years (Subclass 157)

If you fail to meet the two-year residency requirement, but give a compelling reason for (Compelling and Compassionate Reasons) to explain why you did not live for two years, the Immigration Board may consider issuing an RRV. valid for one year to the applicant.

3, 3 months (Subclass 157)

If the applicant is unable to give a convincing reason, or if the grounds are considered insufficient by the Immigration Board, the Board may consider giving the applicant a three-month RRV.

Getting any of these three visas means that you will be able to return to Australia and enjoy all of Australia's benefits in accordance with PR's treatment.

After the visa expires, you can live here legally as long as you don't leave Australia.

For those who do not reach "two years in five years," there is a need to give a "compelling reason."

The key is that the applicant can prove to the Australian Immigration Service that he or she is "not in a good position" to leave Australia. And this reason has always existed during the period of time when the applicant was abroad.

For example, important nuclear family members are seriously ill and applicants must be taken care of overseas as relatives.

In short, if you do not have any plans to naturalize and want to keep Australia's identity and want to be free to travel to and from Australia, remember to submit a new RRV application before your visa expires.

Finally, there are two issues that need to be noted:
