Melbourne drug dealers around the safe injection house activities, the police have nothing to do

 14 Apr 2019

Crime at Richmond Drug Safety injection House

Drug dealers are taking advantage of the legal loophole around Melbourne`s first safe injection house to carry up to 3 grams of heroin.

According to the Daily Mail, there has been an influx of drug dealers into (Richmond), a controversial drug injection house in Richmond, northern Melbourne, since it was put into use. Police say they can`t stop the illegal behavior of drug traffickers.

On the evening of April 10, more than 100 residents attended an emergency meeting to express concern about drug safety injection houses.

Police unions are looking at members to determine whether tougher measures are needed.

Even drug addicts admit that crime and drug abuse are rampant around drug-safe injection houses. An anonymous junkie said in an interview: "this is a big scuffle for everyone."

Richmond residents attend this week`s public meeting

Local residents, including Senator Jolie (Stephen Jolly), said the safe injection house was like a "honeypot" for drug addicts, and they were recruited everywhere.

Two police officers expressed their frustration at the meeting. They were told there was no need to patrol the area because drug users were allowed by law to carry 30 doses of heroin.

Because of this legal loophole, drug users and drug traffickers can carry large doses of drugs without any legal consequences. They can avoid arrest by simply informing the police of their intention to take the drug to a safe injection house.
