A psychopath who kidnaps a newborn? Next dose of the hospital in Xinzhou

 19 May 2018

Parents of the newborn baby were asked to provide passport photos to prevent the baby from being kidnapped.

A series of baby abductions has caused a lot of confusion, leading hospitals to take steps to improve safety.

Healthscope, a private health service provider, asked parents at five hospitals in New South Wales to provide photo evidence, the Daily Telegraph reported.

The company`s policy states that while very few newborns are abducted, "if there is such a risk, there are still potentially catastrophic consequences."

Deborah Fogarty, the director-general of Northwestern Private Hospital, told the Daily Telegraph that the photos could help workers identify "real parents" of newborn babies.

She said the photos will be posted on the crib so that staff and others can know who the child`s parents or guardians are.

Safety has improved since October 2017, when a newborn baby was kidnapped from Blacktown Hospital.

A spokeswoman for the New State Department of Health told the Daily Mail that fewer than 0.000016 percent of the six hundred thousand babies born in new state public hospitals over the past eight years were confused.

In the past five years, she says, no baby has been taken to the wrong family.

"once a newborn is born, we will put identification bands on each child`s ankles as soon as we leave the delivery room or operating room.

"except for medical reasons, maternity services in new state public hospitals do not separate mothers from babies in childbirth or maternity wards."

"We have been looking for ways to improve our work, so we are currently working with New State Department of Health Director Brad. Hazard (Brad Hazzard) called for a study to identify the potential benefits of this extra guarantee. "

The Daily Mail of Australia has contacted the Northwest Private Hospital for advice.
