A key bike track project in Sydney, which has cost taxpayers more than A $ five hundred thousand, has failed to advance into the detailed design phase and has now been handed over to regulators for investigation.

According to the Daily Telegraph, Sydney`s inner west mayor, Bourne (Darcy Byrne), revealed that parliament had signed up with a consultancy firm for the Lilifield Road bike track project, (Lilyfield Rd Cycleway), at a public expense of up to five hundred and thirteen thousand nine hundred and ninety nine Australian dollars. As a result, there was no viable solution.

Bourne is very concerned about this, believing that there are many unsolved groups.

Bourne has now reported to an independent watchdog the council`s spending and regulation of the Lilifield Bicycle Road project. In addition, according to the recommendation, Bourne also referred the matter to the Parliamentary Audit and risk Committee (Audit and Risk Committee) for evaluation.
