In the year to June 2017, the ratio of men to women in the Northern Territory rose from 105.7 to 108 per 100, according to (ABS), the Australian Bureau of Statistics. This was followed by Western Australia, with a male-to-female ratio of 100.7 per 100.
The difference between the male and female populations in the remaining states or territories is smaller. Of these, the lowest is 97.6 per 100, and South Australia and Victoria are 98 per 100.

It is reported that the average age of the population of the Northern Territory is 36.2 years.
