Australia is one of the world`s worst drinkers in the world, according to new data, Radio 9 reported. Australians drink more than 10 litres of pure alcohol each year.
According to the World Health Organization (WHO), the Australian people drank 10.6 litres of pure alcohol per person per year, more than the average of 6.4 litres in the United States, Canada and Japan.
Young Australians aged 15 to 19 were more likely to drink too much, with 38.9 percent of them drinking too much.
France and Russia, however, are worse off, drinking more than 12 litres of pure alcohol a year and about 11.7 litres of pure alcohol each year.
