A man with legal qualifications in civil engineering and accounting has been jailed for 10 years using forged documents to work as a teacher.

Between 2005 and 2015, Victoria male Taylor (Julian Richard Taylor) worked as a math and physics teacher at several local schools, using forged documents, according to Radio 7.

Taylor, 52, even holds a (Monash University) Diploma in Secondary Education from Monash University.

Justice Brooks (David Brookes) of the District Court of Victoria, (County Court), cannot understand why a man with such a degree of education is on such a path.

Taylor was convicted of four counts of using forged documents, seven counts of obtaining financial benefits by deception, one count of perjury and one count of making, using or providing identity information.

Judge Brooks said today that Taylor`s crime lasted long, reckless and carefully designed to cover up previous criminal history.

Taylor had previously been sentenced to eight years in prison for other dishonest acts, including false tax returns and so on.

Judge Brooks sentenced Taylor to two years and 11 months in prison and a non-bail period of two years and two months. However, Taylor has been on remand for 752 days.
