On Thursday afternoon, Australian Prime Minister Stephen Morrison confirmed that his 84-year-old father had died on Wednesday night and was walking peacefully.

Morrison wrote on Facebook:" Last night I received a sad news that my father, John, had died peacefully. He was 84 years old and had a wonderful life full of love. He was a caring father who spent 57 years in marriag with my mother Marion. "
Morrison, whose father served in army, served as a New State Police officer and served as a parliament counculillor and 16-year mayor in Waverley Council, was also a devout Christian.
"My father had a deep and determined Christian faith, one of the many legacy of my life. Our family will miss him very much, but we are very grateful for the good wishes he has brought to our lives. "said Morrison.
