An elderly Sydney woman is suspected of seizing two Thai women as slaves, claiming that they each owe her A $45,000 in debt, demanding that they pay them back by engaging in sexual transaction.

Sydney`s 57-year-old (Rungnapha Kanbut), who denies having slaves and dealing with six accusation items such as proceeds of crime, is on trial at (NSW District Court), a new state district court, according to Channel 7.

Both women, both Asian sex workers, agreed to work in Australia in 2004 and 2005, prosecutor Neal (Peter Neil) said in his opening speech on Tuesday. When they arrived in Sydney, they were arranged to live with Camb. Camb told the two they each had to pay A $45,000 in debt.

Neil said the first woman who arrived in Australia on a visitor`s visa in 2004 did not speak English and was told to give her passport to Camb for custody. The victim was also informed that she would have four days off each month. However, this did not happen and she was forced to work long hours in brothel, all over Sydney.

The victim was explicitly told that she had to pay off her debts before she could start taking money-except for tips.

Neil told the jury that the definition of slavery in Australia "is not what many residents think." In response to Ms. Camb`s mention of accusation, she based her "control" on the A $45,000 debt she asked two women to repay. The fact that two women volunteered to work for sex in Australia did not affect the fact that "one or two of them were owned (used as slaves) by the accused."

The trial continues.
