Melbourne 11-year-old boy was hit by a pet dog with severe face injury.

An 11-year-old boy in northwest Melbourne was attacked by a pet dog and seriously injured in the face on Saturday afternoon, Radio 9 reported.

It is reported that at about 03:20 on Saturday, emergency service personnel received reports and rushed to their residence in (Spearfelt Court), (Cairnlea) Spielfield Street, Kane. There, an 11-year-old boy was attacked by a pet dog and seriously injured. He was taken to the Royal Children`s Hospital (Royal Children`s Hospital) for treatment.

Police believe the boy was attacked by a hybridized Dubin dog in his home.

Local inspectors have arrived at the scene and will take the pet dog away.

At present, relevant agency personnel are investigating the incident.

It is reported that just a few days ago, Melbourne Mir Park (Mill Park) had just a serious pet dog attack on humans. A 61-year-old man was seriously injured and killed when he was attacked by his family`s Stefford Terrier. This is the fourth person in Australia to be killed by a purebred or hybrid Styrich Terrier this year. The man`s 58-year-old wife was admitted to hospital with serious injuries.
