Take your baby's medicine. Be careful! New state mother is charged with nearly dying without following doctor's instructions to feed her child

 06 Jun 2018

Earlier this year, an 18-month-old boy almost died of poisoning. At that time his mother gave him a high dose of prescription medicine.

New South Wales police confirmed in a statement that the 20-year-old will appear in court on June 6 to face seven charges of using toxic drugs to endanger lives or cause serious bodily harm to others.

In January, the boy was taken to Sydney Children`s Hospital, where doctors did not prescribe drugs, but police found that the boy`s body was reasonably high.

Deli is a drug used to treat seizures, neuralgia, and bipolar disorder and usually causes side effects, including nausea and vomiting.

New South Wales police will accuse the mother of feeding her child with prescription drugs without complying with doctors` orders and violating medical advice.

The 20-year-old was arrested in a home in Lurnea, southwest Sydney, on the morning of June 6, after the state crime headquarters child abuse and sexual crime investigation team intervened.

She was denied bail and is expected to appear in Liverpool District Court on June 6.

The child was taken care of by other relatives since he was discharged from hospital.
