Will your family 'demolish'? $15.8 billion, details of the largest road project in Melbourne's history announced today

The Victorian government today announced details of the A $15.8 billion North East Link (North-East link) project.

The largest road project in Victorian history has been backed by two major political parties.

A large 6-lane underground tunnel about 5 km long from Lower Plenty Rd in the Rosanna district to Bulleen Rd.

There are also 1.2km of sinking roads built on the Greensborough Road side.

Labour has promised to bid within 100 days if the November election wins.

Construction is planned to begin in 2020 and be completed in 2027, creating about 10000 jobs in seven years.

A mandatory acquisition of 75 homes and 140 commercial homes shows that those affected will be treated with "respect for (respect)".
