Bad news! Visa approval in remote areas stalled because of the new visa

 15 Nov 2018

"migrant approval in remote areas has stalled! All due to the introduction of the new 5-year country visa is about to be implemented! "

Is it true that Australia`s immigration policy has been tightened since last year and that Scott Morrison, the new prime minister, has been rumoured to have loosened immigration since he took office?

Visa (regional visa) approval for remote areas has fallen to its lowest level in a decade, according to ABC, Australia and Guangzhou, as the federal government prepares to launch a new plan to require new immigrants to work outside major Australian cities for five years.

So is this a good thing for immigrants? Not at all!

For the vast majority of immigrants and international students who want to emigrate, the most imperceptible places of residence are located in big cities, such as Sydney and Melbourne.

But how many Sydney are there in Australia? As if domestic say the first-tier big cities come and go northward, it can be seen that the big cities are limited in the end.

So back to the news itself without any good news about immigration, the news is that even visa applications in remote areas have fallen to the lowest level in a decade!

How much down?

The number of L ä nder guaranteed and remote visa approvals is reported to have dropped to 36,250 in 2017-18! The number of visas granted to the Program for guaranteed Migration in remote areas has dropped from 20,510 five years ago to 6221 last year!

At the same time the figures were revealed, Prime Minister Morrison confirmed that the government was planning to create a new temporary visa category for workers in remote areas, which would require them to spend five years living outside the main cities.

In other words, the delay in the approval of visas in remote areas is not unjustifiable, but is likely to tie in with the implementation of the new visa. After all, according to the current visa rules in remote areas: "only" the applicant is required to stay in remote areas for a two-year waiting period.

The new visa requirement is: from 2 years to 5 years!

In other words, the appeal behind the policy is to allow migrants to stay in remote areas for longer.

So would you want to stay in remote areas for as long as five years in exchange for status?
