New state government said it would build a 3600-hectare new national park in the southern highlands of (Southern Highlands).
New state governor (Gladys Berejiklian) announced on Monday that a new national park would be built 25 kilometers northwest of the southern highland town of Paula (Bowral), according to Radio 7.
The new national park will help protect the koala population in the new state, Beregiklin said.
"this new national park will ensure that the Kola Nature Reserve, which is vital to the south of Sydney, is preserved," Berridge said in a statement.
