In the past four years, 34 illegal brothel masquerading as massage parlours have been shut down in southeastern Melbourne. Police urged the public to actively report other illegal brothel.

According to the Pioneer Sun, (Greater Dandenong Council), the Grand Dandernon Regional Council, has successfully closed 16 illegal local brothel houses over the past four years, six of which have been closed by way of prosecution. Another 10 were closed before investigators took legal action. At the same time, Kingston City Council (Kingston Council) successfully closed 18 illegal brothel.

Bosman (Jody Bosman), director of planning, design and infrastructure at the Grand Dandernon Regional Assembly, said the parliament worked closely with the Victoria Police, the Australian Federal Police and community-based organizations to vigorously investigate illegal brothel in the region. If people suspect illegal brothel activities, please contact Parliament actively and report the property address.

On Oct. 11, Victoria Police, the Australian Federal Police and the Australian Border Service launched a joint operation to raid suspected illegal brothel in the Kingston area.

A spokesman for the state police said the raid was aimed at illegal workers and targeted a number of health massage parlors.
