 02 May 2019

Coles, a local supermarket in Australia, has been pushed to the fore just because an avid netizen posted on the internet, revealing that Coles throws six-cart bread into the trash every day.

Coles gets reprimanded by netizens for throwing away countless breads every day.

Yesterday morning, Melbourne-based Raphael Brous wrote on fb: around 8: 00 a. M., Coles employees pushed out six carts of bread and poured them all into St Kilda East`s trash can.

The bread looks soft and fresh and has no mold at all.

In fact, not only today, Coles every morning to throw away a lot of food.

Net friends see Coles this move, one after another yell waste.

"give it to the homeless."

"it`s just one Coles, all the Coles in the country, how much food is wasted every day. What if we count the Woolworth?"

"it`s a pity, but it`s our consumers who are causing the problem, and no one wants to buy food that`s going to expire."

In fact, behind the scenes, Coles has done a lot.

Coles speaker says big supermarkets in Australia distribute unsold food to community groups.

"95 percent of Coles`s supermarkets and all distribution centers work with SecondBite and FoodBank, which support 1300 community-based organizations in Australia."

In 2018, the total amount of food donated by Coles to the two charitable organizations amounted to 20 million meals.

Speaker also said Coles is actively looking for better ways to ensure that all unsold food can be reprocessed.

"We are also looking for new solutions, such as working with farms to turn unsold food into animal feed;

Or work with energy companies to turn food into clean energy, or turn food into fertilizer. "
