Ban on Electronic smoking in New York Public areas (Australian News Photo)


Australian smokers have been hit hard again, and the new state government has announced a total ban on e-cigarettes, which would impose a fine of up to A $550 if residents use e-cigarettes in public areas or on public transport.

The new state parliament has passed the smokeless environment amendment bill 2018, and smoking-free areas will also be banned from using e-cigarettes, the Australian news website reported. It also means that passers-by no longer have to endure the steam smoke in the air.

Despite earlier evidence that e-cigarettes could save tens of thousands of smokers` lives a year, the (Public Health England) of the UK Public Health Agency issued favourable evidence about e-cigarettes.

Queensland, Victoria, Tata and Canberra have introduced laws to ban residents from shopping malls, cinemas, libraries, trains, buses, public swimming pools, parks since July. E-cigarettes are used in sports grounds and outdoor dining areas.
