How many weeks is your course?
A new LI file will come into force tomorrow, April 3, specifying that a Academic Year must be at least 46 weeks long.
Visa categories involving academic years and weeks are mainly 485 and classified skilled immigrants. Application for 485 visas must meet two years of study requirements, while skilled immigrants are mainly used to add points.
The new LI does not directly state that two or three Academic Year should be a few weeks, but we can also infer from the above requirements that 92 weeks or 138 weeks.
In this case, if your course is 2 Academic Year, but 1 Academic Year is 40 weeks, then you can not meet the application requirements, nor can you add points when applying for skilled immigrants.
