457 visa cancellations, Australian catering industry may be in dange

Indeed, the world's largest job search engine, issued a warning, the Sydney Morning Herald reported. Immigration Secretary Dudon (Peter Dutton) 's crackdown on temporary overseas workers could cause talent such as Oliver (Jamie Oliver), a famous British chef, to lose his chance to play a big role in Australia.

Indeed said searches on the site fell 10 percent at the same time as the government announced a clampdown on overseas labor policies. The company said there were 4 million career searches on the platform in 2017, and the analysis found that job seekers from the UK, not non-English-speaking people, were the most interested in the Australian service industry. The company noted a 78 percent increase in job search for Australian service jobs, but the government's cancellation of 457 visas would have an impact.

The Indeed warned that the government's cancellation of 457 visas would "endanger" Australia's services sector, and that 10 years from now, local employers will face a shortfall of up to 120000 people due to the lack of talent such as restaurant managers and cooks.

McDonald (Chris McDonald), managing director of Indeed Australia and New Zealand, said the Australian services sector would become more difficult to deliver high-quality services and enhance Australia's reputation as a food destination as a result of government practices. He said those interested in Australian services are mostly English-speaking job seekers, which means these overseas workers do not have to overcome language barriers. Visa restrictions on such people make it more difficult to resolve the shortage of skills in Australia, threatening not only the Australian economy, but also talents such as Oliver.
