The Australian Election Commission (Australian Electoral Commission) finally officially announced the results of the Sydney nylon (Bennelong) by-election, according to the Australian news agency, and the victory of Liberal candidate Alexander (John Alexander) was officially confirmed.

After counting the votes at all 41 polling stations in the constituency, the Australian Election Commission announced Thursday afternoon that Alexander had 54.86 percent of the vote in bipartisan selection, compared with 45.14 percent for Labour candidate Ganeli (Kristina Keneally).
