All M1 southbound lanes are temporarily closed and all drivers are required to divert from Sparks Road.

Even so, traffic delays will inevitably occur on the road after the car crash site is cleared, covering about 7 km.

Buses in the area are believed to have been delayed for as long as 45 minutes.

Just two days ago, there was a car accident in which a truck crashed into several cars, killing two people and injuring four others who were taken to hospital.

The accident occurred before 5 p.m., when the northbound B-double truck hit four cars head-on, causing the car to fire.

The victims of the accident included 19-year-old car enthusiast Jack Langford and his 52-year-old uncle Adam..

The driver, Newcastle truck driver Samuel Mclean, allegedly told police at the scene that he was looking for drinks at the time of the accident, which led to negligence and an accident.

Samuel now faces a number of charges, including fatalities and serious injuries caused by dangerous driving.

Yesterday, the 30-year-old Samuel appeared in court to allow bail, but with certain conditions.

Traffic and Highway Patrol Director Phillip Brookes said five of the four cars hit injured five women.

Four of them were discharged and a 75-year-old woman was undergoing surgery yesterday.

"several people were rescued by bystanders at the time of the accident, but unfortunately, two people were still trapped in the car," said Jason Mattson of the new state ambulance service.

"thanks to the bystander`s dexterity and bravery, the death toll would have been more than that."

The driver, Samuel, belongs to the MWP Transport Company, where he has only been working for a few months, and the MWP is now under investigation by the authorities.
