Aldi 'alternative' recruitment is so tempting!

 01 Feb 2018

Australian supermarket giant Aldi is hiring high-paying management positions, earning up to six figures a year, and applicants don`t even need retail experience.

According to the Daily Mail, Aldi is looking for 50 business-savvy regional managers, paid as much as $101,000 per 155,000. More surprisingly, applicants do not need retail management experience.

According to Australian News Corporation, Aldi has attracted aspiring people from a variety of industries, including scientists, engineers, teachers, IT experts and psychologists.

"this is a great role, there are amazing opportunities, so we get a lot of applications-about 9000 a year," Aldi Academy`s finance and executive director, James Buonopane, told the media.

Job seekers need a bachelor`s degree or above (regardless of discipline), more than three years of working experience and outstanding leadership.

The job includes overseeing staff at three to five stores at Aldi, recruiting, training and profit and loss management. Regional managers are required to conduct a 12-month comprehensive training course and configure fully reimbursed cars and iPhone. prior to induction However, applicants also need to work long hours and be responsible for the preparation of a number of stores.

Kelly Wells, which stands out from Aldi`s "unconventional" recruitment, is a living example. Wells from Brisbane quit his job as a lawyer and came to Aldi to become a regional manager. "it`s one of the best jobs I`ve ever done and I`ve never regretted it," she said.

Buonopane told reporters that Aldi likes to hire people outside the retail industry because they believe "attitude determines everything."
