A 55-year-old man in (Kiama), a 55-year-old man on the southern coast of Xinzhou, drowned while fishing at night. The victim is believed to be Chinese and did not wear a life jacket at the time.

At about 2 a.m. Sunday, a man fishing in a rock area on the southern coast of Xinzhou was caught in the sea and drowned, the Australian news agency reported.

Xinzhou police said the dead, 55 years old, are believed to be Chinese. He was not wearing a lifejacket and was washed away by waves in the (Marsden Head) rock area of Cape Maston in Camar.

At that time, there were two of his companions at the scene.

The emergency service department then received a report and rushed to the scene for rescue. (Toll Ambulance Rescue Helicopter), a rescue helicopter, rescued the man from the water, but he was announced death after being taken to Wolonggang Hospital (Wollongong Hospital).

The police will prepare a report for the coroner.
