The debate over Australia`s population heated up again this week, with experts divided over the size of the population Australia is supposed to accommodate.
Australia`s current population growth rate is more than double that of the United States, Britain and even China, according to Radio 9. Some politicians argue that a surge in immigration-driven populations will help ensure Australia`s future prosperity.
But for Australians facing endless development, traffic jams and overcrowding every day, the claim is clearly hard to accept.

But planning consultant Geha (Shane Geha) says Australia does need more people to ensure economic`s prosperity, and says the ideal population for big cities like Sydney should be around 10 million.
Geha said Australia is already one of the luckiest countries in the world. With more people, Australia will be better off.
