: Museum of Contemporary Art Australia Sydney Museum of Contemporary Art

 25 Oct 2017

Located opposite the Sydney Opera House, the Australian Museum of Contemporary Art, (MCA), is one of Sydney's most distinctive art landmarks. Sandstone buildings were built in the 1950s with a cumbersome style of classical art decoration. Founded by the artist John Power (1881 / 1943), it was developed in 1991. For many years, however, the museum has been on the brink of bankruptcy.

However, under the leadership of Elizabeth Ann Macgregor curator, the museum's collection has finally been expanded, visitors are steadily increasing, and the demand for more space is growing rapidly. In 2010, Sydney architect Sam Marshall has been appointed to redecorate the museum's interior and, more importantly, needs to design a new building on the site next to what was once a parking lot. The building will provide space for three new galleries, a coffee shop, sculpture platform, education center and lecture hall. Looks from the appearance, the new and the old building style is very different; Inside, Sam Marshall combines the two buildings perfectly, almost indistinguishable from one building to the other. Sam Marshall does the job beautifully. MCA turns out to be what we see today.

The Sydney Museum of Contemporary Art focuses on the display, interpretation and collection of modern art, featuring modern works of art from all over the world, including paintings, sculptures, electronic art, animation, etc. This is the ideal place for fashion bloggers and young artists. The MCA Coffee seat on the top floor is also recommended! Excellent view, open air and indoor options, order a cup of coffee, taste the beauty of Sydney. Overlooking the Sydney Opera House and seeing thousands of tons of ships, it is a good place for photography and leisure.
