AEAS: a pass to Australia's top private schools

What is the AEAS exam?

The AEAS full name is Australian Education Assessment Services, Australia Education Assessment Service. AEAS is a comprehensive test designed by AEAS for international primary school students who are interested in studying in Australia. About 95% of Australia's top private schools require students to provide AEAS scores to measure their ability to enter Australian classrooms, the most widely received Australian secondary school entrance exam.

AEAS scores can be applied to Sydney's top private schools including: well-known private boys school The Kings School,Knox Grammar School, girls private school Pymble Ladies College, Kincoppal Rose Bay, mixed school SCEGGS Redlands and so on.


Examination content

The AEAS exams include:

English (written and oral);

Mathematical reasoning (all multiple choice questions);

Non-linguistic comprehensive ability.

The exam will take about three hours. The content of the exam will vary according to the age of the student and the grade to be applied for. For example: if the student is now studying in Grade 9 in China and is going to apply for Grade 10 in Australia next year, the student should take the Australian AEAS Test of English, Mathematics and Comprehensive competence for Grade 10 / 12.

English exam: grade 7-9

The test item type is similar to that of grade 10-12, but the test content is designed specifically for the knowledge background of grade 7-9 students.

The test is designed specifically for students who are ready to apply for Australia's 10th and 12th graders.


Total score and scoring Standard of AEAS Test

The AEAS exam, each part of which is scored independently:

1, English part: a total of 5 items, the original score of 100 points. Each sub-item original score of up to 20 points, converted to a standardized level: 1 / 9 level;

2, mathematics: original score of 45 points, converted to a standardized level: 1 / 9 level;

3, comprehensive ability: original score of 60 or 40 points (each exam may be different), converted to a standardized level: 1 / 9.


Period of validity of AEAS Test results

Candidates can take the AEAS examination one and a half years in advance at the earliest. If you apply for admission to the main course in January 2019, you can take the exam in July 2017. Application for Australian schools will be valid within one year from the date of marking.
