Sudden: police shot dead man with knife outside Ipswich train station in Brisbane

 16 Sep 2018

Police fired on a man at the Ipswich train station west of Brisbane.

Police say the shooting took place at 4: 15 p.m., and a crime scene has been established.

There were reports that the man died on the spot, but the police refused to confirm it.

Police are reported to have opened fire when the man held a knife in the parking lot of Ipswich Central Railway Station.

The police refused to say where the man was shot, how many times he was shot, and whether he was armed.

"We are not looking for anyone else," a police spokesman said. We have set up a crime scene. "

An ambulance spokesman for Kunzhou confirmed that the paramedics had been called to deal with the matter, but declined to give more information.

Translink said the Ipswich/Rosewood line suspended two-way service between the Thomas Street and Bundamba railway stations, causing passengers to be delayed for up to an hour.

Alternative buses have been arranged for the affected flights.

The man shot is unknown. No one else was hurt in the incident.

The entrance to the railway station has been blocked.
