On Sunday, many gatherings took place in Australia, demanding an end to the offshore detention of refugees. About a thousand people attended the Sydney rally.
Australia held many rallies on Sunday afternoon to fight for refugees` rights, Radio 7 reported.
At the (Belmore Park) rally in Sydney`s Belmo Park, protesters held signs that read "bring them here", "support humanity, not violence," and "promise refugees."
Former footballer Foster (Craig Foster) told rallies that the lives of (Manus Island) on Manus Island and (Nauru) in Nauru had been weighed heavily on the hearts of Australians and that it was time for everyone to step forward.
