 28 Apr 2018

A car belonging to a Chinese student who disappeared more than two weeks ago was found near Melbourne Canyon.

Chu Yiwei has been missing for two weeks. He has been in Australia for eight years in Glen Waverly, and was last seen on April 11 on surveillance footage of a Hungry Jack`s in Notting Hill.

Authorities found the 28-year-old man`s Toyota Camry. in the parking lot of Werribee Canyon on Saturday morning.

At a news conference earlier this week, authorities said no toll road or traffic surveillance video had ever captured the car. Chu Yiwei`s family offered a reward of 10,000 yuan in search of him.

His father, Chu Jianqun, wept, saying, "it`s getting colder and colder at night." "you are our only son. Without you, we don`t know how to survive."

"my grandmother, father and mother miss you very much," he said through an interpreter. "I hope you can contact us as soon as possible." Chu Yiwei, a (Melbourne Institute of Technology) student at Melbourne Institute of Technology, was supposed to go to Hawthorn to pick up his wife Emma (Emma) on the afternoon of his disappearance, but he never showed up. Since then, his cell phone has been turned off, his bank account has not been visited, nor has he used social media or credit cards.

At the request of their families, the police did not disclose their personal problems.

Detective Superintendent Anthony Cecchin said the disappearance was "unusual" and admitted that the police "had no idea" what had happened.

He said: "We do not know whether his disappearance was intentional or other reasons, and there may be other insidious information." Unfortunately, at this stage, all of our investigative leads are blank. " Please call the crime hotline at 1800 333,000 for anyone who has seen Ch`u Yi Wei or who knows where he is.
