A Ghanaian group arrived in Australia disguised as a Commonwealth Games (Commonwealth Games) professional and was intercepted at Brisbane Airport by the Australian Border Guard (Australian Border Force).

According to the Daily Mail, a Ghanaian group disguised as a Commonwealth Games reporter, athlete and official attempted to enter Australia because it was unable to answer questions about the Commonwealth Games and athletes. And not equipped with the proper equipment caused the authorities to suspect.
Ghanaian media have revealed that as many as 50 people have been detained by the Australian Border Guard and visas have been revoked. Ghanaian media have called the scandal "frustrating" and two National Sports Bureau officials have been suspended.
It was the second smuggling scandal during the 2018 Gold Coast Commonwealth Games. Last week, a group from India attempted to enter the country disguised as a Commonwealth Games reporter, stopped and repatriated by the Australian Border Guard. One 48-year-old man was also charged with human smuggling.
