The new Australian rules that came into effect in 2018, each of which is relevant to you

The federal government`s low-interest loans to college students will be limited to $104444 for ordinary students and $1500000 for medicine, dentistry and veterinary medicine.

(Relocation scholarships) will no longer be available to international students from other countries or to local students studying in other countries.



Accommodation:

New homeowners are not entitled to a tax-free policy on the cost of checking and maintaining rented houses.

Medical treatment:

Drug Mannitol. for treatment of cystic fibrosis

In the past, patients needed up to $138000 for cancer drugs and only $39.50 for them.

Through the drug benefits program, veterans can get more cheap antibiotics, heart disease and stroke drugs.

The government will allocate A $5.7 million over the next four years to provide clean drinking water for residents near the northern territory of Tindal Air Force Base, which is contaminated by toxic arson materials.



Taxation:

The government lifted a special tax of A $11,999 on the import of used cars.

Prohibition order:

To encourage older people over 65 to reduce their housing size, from July 1 this year, people over 65 can deposit the proceeds of housing sale into pension accounts, up to $300, 000. With effect from 1 July this year, a person receiving a pension or disability benefit (Disability Support Pension) must meet the following conditions:

Stay in Australia for more than 10 consecutive years, of which at least 5 years are at work; or live in Australia for at least 10 consecutive years, and can prove that you have not received activity tested income support; for 5 years (or more) or have resided for 15 years continuously.

Privacy protection:

Last year, the federal government passed the Privacy Amendment Act 2017 Act, which requires all entities bound by the Australian Privacy Principles to report data within 30 days from Feb. 22 in the event of data leaks. If confirmed, the entity must make a statement to each person whose data has been leaked or at risk and notify the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner.
