Brief introduction to GlobalTech

The International University of Science and Technology (alliance (Global Alliance of Technological Universities, GlobalTech), also known as G7, is made up of seven top science and technology universities in the world (expanded to eight after Georgia Institute of Technology joined in 2010).

Founded in 2009, the International University of Science and Technology (alliance) is originally composed of seven top world universities, including Carnegie Mellon University in the United States, New South Wales University in Australia, Imperial Institute of Technology in the United Kingdom, Mumbai Institute of Technology in India, Nanyang University of Technology in Singapore, Shanghai Jiaotong University in China and Munich Polytechnic University in Germany.

The purpose of alliance members of the International University of Science and Technology is to popularize and carry forward engineering science and technology education in teaching, research, teacher-student exchange and other cooperation, and to solve the problems faced by human beings, such as climate change, water shortage, energy shortage, urbanization and so on. The first chairman of alliance is Xu Guanlin, president of Singapore`s Southern University, for a two-year term. The secretariat is also based in Singapore and will take turns with the presidents of the other six countries.
