1, date of implementation of TSS visa

The Immigration Service will open the new TSS visa-related transfer system next month, March 2018, after the entry into force of the new immigration law. Until then, 457 visas can still be submitted online. The Immigration Board will publish the specific date of implementation of the TSS visa on the official website.


2, occupation list UPDAT

The reform of temporary and permanent employer-guaranteed visa programs will be accompanied by another change in the list of occupations.

4. Renewal of employer guarantee qualifications

After the March 2018 reforms, existing 457 employers could reapply for a new five-year validity before expiration.


5, TSS visa labour market test

In addition to the exemption from labour market testing for national applicants who have signed trade agreements with Australia, other applicants must meet the LMT, or labour market test requirements, before submitting their TSS visa. Because China and Australia signed a free trade agreement in 2014, Chinese applicants are not required to pass the labour market test.


6. Work experience requirements for TSS visas

According to an announcement by Australia's goverment on April 18, 2017, TSS visa applicants must work for at least two years in a nominated position or related occupation prior to submission. The related requirements are broadly as follows:

8. For the renewal of the TSS visa, the main sub-applicants for all the TSS can be signed in Australia or abroad. However, for short-term career list applicants, if the primary applicant meets all of the following conditions, it must be signed abroad:

Note: TSS visa holders holding two short-term occupations in a row and the second visa being signed within Australia must apply for a TSS visa for the next short-term occupation from abroad. The permanent employer-guaranteed visa reform, which began in March 2018
