Aldi Champagne is only sold for $20 at the International Awards!

 21 Jun 2018

According to the Australian Daily Mail, a bottle of champagne from Aldi, a cheap supermarket, was named one of the best champagne in the world in a famous wine and spirits competition.

The retailer`s Veuve Monsigny Champagne Brut won a silver medal of excellence in this year`s international wine and spirits challenge.

So far, 20 Aldi products have won prizes in international competitions.

Aldi`s award-winning champagne, sold for just 19.99 yuan, is produced by Philizot & Fils, a world-renowned winery that has worked with the manufacturer for more than five years.

It is popular with consumers, with Aldi champagne sales surging 40% last month.

"We are very proud to see our Veuve Monsigny Champagne Brut win the third international award this year," said Julie Ashfield, Aldi`s UK procurement director.

"our close relationships with some of the best brewers in the world, including the acclaimed Philizot et Fils, are vital to us so that we can provide good and affordable drinks."

"in my opinion, if not the best champagne, Veuve Monsigny Champagne Brut is one of the best champagne," said Aldi wine expert Sam Capone (Sam Caporn).

The Daily Mail has also contacted Aldi`s managing director, Browne Pust (Bronywn Post), who has yet to respond.
