Aldi also has good coffee, which won the world championship with less than $7 in coffee powde

 13 Dec 2018

An aromatic coffee powder created by ALDI and Australian roaster Black Bag Roasters won the highest prize in the world`s largest coffee competition.

With more than 1400 entries from more than 400 bakeries, ALDI`s Lazzio Medium Roast stands out in the "Golden Bean Competition" (Golden Bean Competition) in the chain / franchised filtered coffee category.

Black Bag Roasters, a Melbourne-based coffee roaster, has been working on quality coffee for the past 14 years and has been working with ALDI since 2014.

"in just a few years, Lazzio coffee powder has been a big hit, as evidenced by our recent gold award at the Golden Bean contest," said Brown (Lance Brown), managing director of Black Bag Roasters.

Brown explained that the process of creating award-winning coffee began with the company`s commitment to purchasing the best quality coffee beans.

"each batch of Lazzio baking coffee powder is made up of a close and passionate team of award-winning bakers."

"it [process] starts with the origin of coffee beans, and our coffee bean procurement team works directly with farmers to grow the best coffee varieties, pick and process them."

"to ensure that each cup of Lazzio coffee is as delicious and as good as the last one, our Q Graders measures their quality in their place of origin and will be tested again after they are shipped to Australia." Added Mr Brown.

According to Lewis (Amy Lewis), director of procurement at ALDI Australia, the coffee was developed to satisfy customers` home experience.

"Black Bag Roasters`s commitment and enthusiasm are reflected in the quality and freshness of the coffee they produce," she said. We look forward to continuing our partnership and producing quality coffee powder in the future. "

The ALDI Lazzio Roast sells for 6.99 yuan per 500g.
