Wuhan, january 24(xinhua), wuhan university people`s hospital experts found that the infection of new coronary disease toxi city pneumonia, patients are not necessarily the first manifestation of fever and respiratory symptoms, there are digestive system, nervous system, cardiovascular system, ophthalmology and other symptoms.

On january 24th the people`s hospital of wuhan university issued its first symptom of non-respiratory system-the identification and protection of patients with a new type of coronary disease, toxicity pneumonia (2019-ncov).

Fever cough isn't the only first symptom of pneumonia with a new type of coronavirus infection

The authorities issued a notice on the publication of a new coronavirus pneumonia treatment program (trial 3rd edition) pointed out that the clinical manifestations of the new coronary disease toxi city pneumonia with fever, fatigue, dry cough as the main manifestations. In the course of diagnosis and treatment of new pneumonia, many cases of "atypical" have been found.

Professor Yu Honggang, Director of Digestive Medicine, People`s Hospital of Wuhan University, introduced an atypical case. The 45-year-old man was admitted to the digestive department for 3 days because of diarrhea. The doctor repeatedly asked for his medical history and confirmed that he had a new history of contact with coronary disease, toxi city pneumonia, but had no obvious fever and related respiratory symptoms. After receiving the doctor and the patient`s full communication, the patients were treated with BREAST CT.

Professor Chen Guozhong, director of the Department of Respiratory and Critical Care, Wuhan University People`s Hospital, said that in many clinical cases, the patient had no typical respiratory symptoms such as fever and cough, and only had symptoms of digestive system: mild anorexia, fatigue, mental retardation, nausea and vomiting, diarrhea, etc.

Experts cautioned that the above-mentioned patients with non-respiratory system as the first manifestation of easy access to the relevant departments, especially in the Department of Digestive Medicine. Due to the lack of specific clinical manifestations, it is easy to cause missed diagnosis or misdiagnosis and increase the chance of transmission. Medical staff should improve their vigilance in patients with anorexia, fatigue, muscle soreness (including mild soreness) and mild mental distress, and timely investigation. This type of "atypical" patient should strengthen self-segregation and medical staff should also strengthen self-protection.
