According to a new proposal by health experts, some people who will enter Australia in the future may be allowed to stay in isolation without compulsory hotel stay.

The Australian Prime Minister, Scott Morrison, confirmed today that Australia's Chief Health Protection Committee (Australian Health Protection Principal Committee) is considering whether people from "safe" countries can be isolated at home.

"I think home segregation has a role to play in the future, and Australia's Chief Health Protection Committee is considering it, especially as we move beyond the current stage, Morrison told journalist in Canberra today. "

"We are indeed looking at a point in time to open our borders to a number of secure areas, whether for New Zealand, parts of the Pacific island countries, Japan and South Korea, or (other) countries success rates. We then have the opportunity to consider options. "

Under current regulations, most overseas arrivals, as well as domestic visitors to "closed" states and territories, are subject to mandatory two-week hotel isolation. The exception is the Capital Territory, where people are already isolated at home.

Morrison cited Denmark and Greece as examples of "many" countries that now allow people from low-risk areas to be isolated at home. Meanwhile, Hong Kong and Japan are considering easing travel restrictions on low-risk countries such as Australia.

The Prime Minister stated that, while this depended primarily on health advice, he hoped that "we can move forward ".

In the early days of the new crown, people entering Australia had to be isolated at home. Morrison praised the Australian Chinese community's compliance with home segregation rules at the time, which played a "vital" role in Australia's successful control of the first wave of the epidemic.

Morrison was also asked today whether he was responsible for the state's short-term launch and operation of the hotel separation mechanism in March.

The Prime Minister responded :" In fact, the states and territories were the most in need of action at the time, and they recommended the rapid establishment of hotel segregation measures, which we support. "

But he points out that the state's hotel segregation is a "disgrace" and that the local experience is "very different ".
