NSW government imposed strict restrictions on international flights to Sydney airport.
Under the new rules, starting on Saturday ,4 July, a maximum of 50 passengers per flight is allowed, totalling 450 passengers per day.
These restrictions will cause some flights to be cancelled or transferred to other cities.
As of Saturday ,4 July 2020, the State of New South Wales government will impose a strict limit of 50 passengers per international flight at Sydney Airport, with a total daily entry limit of 450. The Australian Office of the High Commissioner to the United Kingdom has warned through social media that it expects "to suspend international flights to Sydney. "
The restrictions were introduced after the cancellation of all inbound passenger flights at Melbourne Airport on July 15, as new cases rose in the city.
Qantas and Virgin Australia have suspended all international flights from Sydney.
However, other airlines, including New Zealand Airlines, Singapore Airlines, China Southern Airlines, Common Airlines, Cathay Pacific Airlines and Emirates continue to take off at Kingsford Smith (Kingsford Smith) Airport.
Passenger restrictions at Sydney airport are expected to remain unchanged until Melbourne accepts international flights again.
