Missing boat owner's wallet washed ashore in South Australia, police said chances of survival were slim

For more than two days, the 58-year-old South Australian Tony Higgins has disappeared again. Police confirmed that some of his personal belongings, including his wallet, ID card and so on, were washed up on a coast on Wednesday. Higgins disappeared at sea for the second time in two weeks. Police say his chances of survival are getting smaller.

After going out to sea with friends in early Higgins, he disappeared for nearly a week, triggering the largest sea search operation in South Australia. His unexpected appearance made people feel happy for him. However, just 12 days later, he disappeared early on Tuesday after calling police for help. A marine rescue team has been searching for him and his Margrel wooden boat.

ABC reported that police said they had conducted extensive searches in Victor Harbor and Coorong. But the weather conditions of the past few days have been "very bad ", making search work very difficult.

Although the police haven't given up hope, they admit it's hopeless. "We can not see anything because of the waves and all the weather around us. "Inspector Gus Sickerdick said. "We have always wanted him to be alive, and obviously, over time, the odds are getting smaller and smaller. "

On Wednesday, around 6.30 a.m., a local fisherman found a lifebuoy and portable oil barrels in waters close to the Murray Mouth and Goolwa, allegedly "in line with the contents of the missing boat ".
