Rescue of stranded whales

After one of the world's worst mass whale strandings, Australians have begun to struggle with nearly 400 failed whale carcasses.

Earlier this week, more than 470 long-finned pilot whales (Pilot Whale) were found stranded on a beach southwest of Tasmania, and animal protection groups and volunteers immediately launched rescue efforts. As of Thursday, nearly 90 whales had been rescued by sleepless people. Most of the lucky guys have returned to deep water and only four have had to be euthanized because of dehydration.

With the exception of the lucky ones who were successfully rescued, the remaining nearly 400 whales may have to face the tragic fate of the death. Although some whales are still alive now, scientists believe that all whales still on shore will die within 24 hours. So how to deal with such a large whale body is now a top problem for government and scientists in Tazhou.

"Dealing with more than 400 death whales is a real problem ," Dr. Vanessa Pilota (Dr.Vanessa Pirotta), a marine scientist at Macquarie University (Macquarie University), told journalist ." We have a number of options, such as dragging the body into the sea, but it has to be dragged far away, because it is important to ensure that the body is not grounded again, or that the body can be left on the beach to decompose naturally, but it can be dangerous for swimmers in the area, because rotting whale carcasses can cause large numbers of sharks to wander nearby; or another option might be to remove the body and bury it deep inland away from the site after taking genetic samples. & quot;

And it's not certain what the local government will eventually do, anyway, it's not a happy story to pray for the passing of these elegant and pitiful lives.
