Rescue forces are battling deteriorating weather conditions to save a 27-year-old German tourist, the Sydney Morning Herald reported. The tourist fell off a cliff near a campsite in (Blue Mountains), Blue Mountain, and sustained serious injuries.

Police are reported to have found more than 12 hours of missing German tourists near the Perry's Lookdown campsite in Blue Mountain around 02:15 on Friday.

The tourist camped with a friend nearby and was believed to have fallen off a cliff while heading to the toilet. The man had broken legs, hypothermia and injuries to his head and spine.

(NSW Ambulance) Passel (Brian Parsell), from the new state ambulance agency, said the tourist had lost consciousness below the waist and was in a stable but serious condition at the moment.

According to Passel, three special operations paramedics and police rescuers are trying to get the man out of the area because of bad weather conditions that have prevented rescue helicopters from entering the scene.

Given the man`s injuries, he said it was not clear where he would be sent for treatment after he was rescued.
