The city has been engulfed by thick smoke, and out-of-control fires have spread to the city, large numbers of people have been evacuated, and local flights have been disrupted. About 600 campers have been evacuated from the Wilderness National Park, the Australian Mercury newspaper reported. Local people are required to prepare for leave or defend their homes in accordance with the forest fire survival plan. At present, the road to the park has been blocked.
