The United States confirmed the second case of pneumonia in Wuhan
On Friday (January 24), U.S. health officials said a woman had contracted pneumonia in Wuhan after returning from Wuhan to Chicago. This is the second case of coronavirus pneumonia diagnosed in the United States in Wuhan, and a further 63 potential cases are being monitored.
The patient, a woman in her 60s, was treated in isolation at a Chicago hospital. It`s said to be in good condition. She travelled to Wuhan in December and flew back to Illinois on January 13.
The woman had no symptoms while on the plane.
Nancy Massonier, director of the National Center for Immune and Respiratory Diseases at the Centers for Disease Prevention and Control (CDC), told Journalist on a conference call on Friday that the CDC is currently monitoring 63 people in 22 states,11 of whom are negative.
After returning to the United States, patients went out with very limited activities, did not use public transport or attend any large parties, and had no close contact with anyone other than home.
02. United States to improve epidemic prevention
"The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention believes the direct risk to the American public is low, but the situation is developing rapidly," Masoniel said. She added that there could be more cases in the coming days.
The CDC warned Friday that flu or other respiratory diseases could complicate the discovery of more cases. They advise people to call health-care providers before seeking treatment to hand over testing to state health officials.
Once the samples arrive at the lab, the CDC currently takes about four to six hours to make a diagnosis.
U.S. health officials are taking special measures to stop the spread of the disease, including screening for passengers arriving at U.S. airports from China and taking quarantine measures if necessary. Hospitals across the United States also typically conduct exercises to prepare for a highly contagious disease.

U.S. officials began inspecting passengers arriving from Wuhan at major U.S. international airports last weekend. CDC officials said Friday they had screened more than 2,000 people on 200 flights but found no cases.
03. Major hospitals have developed response plans
It is reported that although the Los Angeles area has not received Wuhan pneumonia patients, but the entire area of hospitals have been notified, in a state of alert.
Hospitals have trained staff on how to ask patients and how to wear protective measures; these hospitals have experience in dealing with other similar infections.
Coronavirus symptoms are similar to flu, so it`s important to know where a patient has been, according to Los Angeles Hospital staff.
You often see fevers and coughs, but you don`t need "mass hysteria," and there may be a large number of patients with symptoms that are very much like a cold, and the vast majority can recover.
Currently, major hospitals in the United States, including Los Angeles, San Francisco, Seattle, New York and Chicago, have developed steps to deal with emergencies.
When patients come in, first ask them whether they have been to Wuhan in the past 14 days; if they have, they will be isolated.
Medical staff need personal protective equipment such as goggles and mask equipment as recommended by the CDC (U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention).
According to Ronald Perelman, the emergency deputy director at NYU Langone`s Brooklyn Hospital at New York University,& quot; We discussed the system-wide diagnosis of the outbreak two weeks ago."
"The first and foremost thing is to educate our health-care staff. We tend to be overly careful. "The hospital is responding to a large number of flu patients. "Influenza patients have to be isolated, the unknown is always terrible, I am also very worried about the flu. "
North plus 9 new suspected patients
