Bad news! The Australian government's budget for the new fiscal year announces that parents' immigration quotas will be cut

This evening, the Australian government announced the budget for fiscal year 2018 / 19. Let's first take a look at the immigration and visa policies that are most closely related to all of us.

Tonight, the government did not announce a quota for immigration for the new fiscal year, hoping not less than one hundred and ninety thousand.

There is a picture circulating online that cannot confirm the credibility of immigration acceptance over the next four years. (note: intake and planning level are different concepts!) According to the investigation, it was issued by the one-State Party, Hansen twitter:

Neither the budget nor the official website of the Ministry of the Interior has mentioned the immigration quota for the new fiscal year, so don't believe this for the time being. As soon as the official news comes out, we will release it at the first time!

Parental immigration quota cut in disguise

From FY2018 to FY19, 410 (Retirement) and 405 (Investor Retirement) visa holders will be granted access to PR!

They can apply for a 103rd or 143rd visa within the country and occupy a portion of the PR quota for parents to emigrate! It will also be exempted from some of the unmet requirements of its own visa holders, including the most important-with Australian PR or citizens' children as guarantees! What does that mean? This means that even parents who are not Australians can use their parents' immigration quotas and even visa class codes in a dignified manner!

The 410th visa has been closed, and the 405th visa will not accept new applications on July 1, when PR is opened. But the access will remain open until all retiree visa holders intending to switch to PR have completed.

This is no doubt another bad news in addition to the AOS's demand for an increase in the number of parents immigration applicants who have to wait for a long time because of the limited number of places they already have to wait for!

Neolithic comments:

The budget says the government expects an increase of 8.2 million Australian dollars through the policy, or about 188 places if calculated at 143 costs. If it is 103, then there will be more places.

If these places were left to 405 / 410 visa holders, the income-generating amount of $8.2 million would be the same as for regular parents immigration applicants, because these are not additional places, but misappropriated places! We both pay visa fees and contributions are the same amount.

If foreign parents emigrate applicants, these people to buy homes, shopping and living expenses, and so on, will actually have a greater income.

On the contrary, if a 405 / 410 holder is given, note that the holder is not a new applicant (because 410 is closed and 405 is about to be closed), and these people are already in Australia and will not create more wealth for Australia by acquiring PR.

So from the above analysis, Australia has not brought more economic benefits to the country. In this case, the purpose of such a change has to be thought-provoking.

We know that there are more Asians, especially Chinese, in parental immigration visas, while 410 and 405 Chinese applicants are very few because they are residency visas and harsh conditions. This group is now allowed to occupy the PR quota for parents to emigrate, and the conditions have been relaxed, presumably with a view to:

  • Restrictions on Chinese-led migration of Asian parents encouraged retired visa holders, mainly Angru Saxon, to obtain permanent residence in Australia.
  • If the vast majority of 405 / 410 visa applicants are not interested in applying for the PR, that would amount to a disguised reduction in parental immigration quotas!

enormous impact

405 / 410 visa holders have never had access to permanent residence, and it is believed to be clear before submitting their application. As a result, we can believe that these visa holders do not receive PR demands or expectations. Under such circumstances, why should the Australian government force them with "green cards"?

The impact is likely to be that with the 190000 immigration quota unchanged, the quota for all types of visas remains unchanged in theory, and the reduction in parental immigration quotas means that the waiting period will be longer for the parents to be signed. The current 143 trial period is about 3 years.

This is no longer a retirement visa for page reasons and why few Chinese apply for it. In short, it will be harder for parents to emigrate to applicants.

Other important immigration policies

  • The number of general practitioner visas has been reduced by 200. From 1 January 2019, the number of general practitioners imported from overseas will be reduced from 2300 to 2100 in order to address the problem of oversupply in urban areas and guide visa applicants to areas where there is a genuine shortage of doctors, including in remote areas. The occupation is currently on the 189 migrants list;
  • Extension of waiting time for new immigrants to receive benefits. In the 2017-18 Economic and Financial Outlook report, it was stated that, as from July 2018, the period for new immigrants to receive benefits will be extended from two to three years, including paid maternity leave. Caregiver's allowance and family tax grant, etc. And now it's going to be extended to four years! What a disaster!
