Sydney environs: Hau hoon island

"there is still such a beautiful island in the world! It's just like what I thought of heaven. " Yes, this is Lord Hauhon Island, (Lord Howe Island). It is located alone in the South Pacific Ocean, 600 kilometers from Australia, and allows only 400 visitors a day, except for 300 islanders, so it is definitely a once-in-a-lifetime limited edition experience.

Hershone Island must experience

There are plenty of activities on the island, and sports enthusiasts will feel like. North Bay and Old Settlement Beach are snorkeling, corals and sea turtles. I also went snorkeling and saw a lot of colorful fish and beautiful corals, and some of my colleagues saw sharks; I could dive deep, fish, rent a kayak, or paddle board; and I could take part in a trekking experience.

Watching the sunrise in Blinky Beach

Blinky Beach is a bird-watching, sunrise-watching good place, dense seabirds are not afraid of people.

Ride a bike to Neds Beach.

Neds Beach is the island's most popular beach, where thousands of fish can be easily viewed. At about 5 a. M., it was not clear yet, and set off on a bike to Neds Beach. The wind brushed his face, followed the sound of the sea, through a palm-forest tunnel that covered the sky, and suddenly appeared the beach, the sides of the road becoming flat grass slopes, the beach under the slope, the waves pounding up, and a flock of birds resting. There are many others circling around the secret beach, the waves, the wind, the sweet birdsong, and feeling as if they had broken into The British Broadcasting Corporation's animal documentary. It turned out that the earth was so beautiful when it was not destroyed by human beings.

Watching the sunset on the bench

In the evening she rode her bread and wine to one of her favorite benches to watch the sunset. We poured wine, nibbled on bread, played the music "white gloves" with the sunset, and began to droop on the bench with great relaxation. Gradually, the sunset was like a painting to be cast on the golden glow. The clouds of the sky, some black, some inlaid with gold, some turned pink, along with the setting sun in the direction of rapid change.

On foot, Gal, Mt.

In addition to the charm of the sea, the island also has rich forest resources. On this 2/3 forest-covered land, there is a range of hiking trails from 1 to 10 levels, from the simplest sea to the closest professional climb, the route that needs to be led by a dedicated person, can be chosen according to their physical strength. The simplest route back and forth is 40 minutes; the hardest part is to climb the highest peak in the south, the Mt.. Gower), takes a total of eight hours. This time I chose the most difficult hiking peak.

It was the best and most interesting day I had on Hershone Island. Friends who are here are highly recommended to try it (as long as their physical strength is up, balance is not bad, they are not afraid of heights, and their knees are not damaged). During the eight-hour journey, a very professional mountaineering guide led the team, leaving at 7: 00 a.m. and climbing at around 11:40 at noon. Take a break at the top of the mountain and eat your own sandwiches, then go down the hill and end at about 3: 00 p.m. Especially interesting is that there is a book on the top of the mountain, on which everyone can write a sentence, maybe this book is full of new books, before I saw the only Asian signed by a Japanese.

Registration fee: 100 Australian dollars per person, not every day, to make an appointment in advance, lead a team of up to 20 people, is a very popular project, basically later on the appointment, so it is recommended to go to the island on the first day to book a trip to Mount Golgi.

Upper Island Tips

Although the island is small, it has everything to offer. There is a police station, it is said that there is only one police officer, there is a hospital, I went to see the doctor on vacation that day, I only posted an emergency contact number on the door, there are several churches, there are museums, there are several small shops, there are hairdressers, Massage's place and a lot of diving shops. More information can be found on the official website: https://www.lordhoweisland.info/.

Internal and external traffic

[external traffic]: there is only one way to get there, by plane from Sydney or Brisbane, about a two-hour voyage;

Internal traffic: traffic on the island basically depends on bicycles, although there are some uphill, but not very tired.

Island accommodation

Houxun Island accommodation is residential, there is a high-middle-class choice. The island's most popular Capella Lodge. The accommodation on the island is actually very clean, random choice should be good, I live in the Somerset, store owner is very kind and smiling lady, can cook their own kitchen, there is a balcony to sit dazed. The hotel posts the weather forecast, waves, wind speed and so on every day.

Island cuisine

The hamburgers on the island were delicious, the bread was slightly scorched, the eggs inside were very tender, the bacon was oily and juicy, and it was satisfying to bite down, but a little salty. If there's a lot of people, BBQ, has a free grill in many places, and you can buy meat, onions, oil, seasonings, and so on at the island's small store. In the store on the island, my favorite is joys shop.. The biggest, the thing is also very complete.
