12 McDonald's in Melbourne shut down

A McDonald`s restaurant in Melbourne was temporarily closed for delivery drivers infected with the virus

Hundreds of workers have been asked to isolate themselves after a delivery driver in victoria, which has shut down and sanitized 12 mcdonald`s restaurants in melbourne`s north and west. The australian president of mcdonald`s says more cases of links to mcdonald`s restaurants are likely to occur. Virginia governor andrews (Daniel Andrews) says the driver is particularly concerned about being an asymptomatic patient.

McDonald`s Australian President Gregory (Andrew Gregory) told the Australian Broadcasting Corporation (ABC) Radio Melbourne this morning that "until yesterday afternoon" the driver was confirmed to have tested positive COVID-19 the virus and the company was told to close 12 McDonald`s restaurants delivered by the driver within hours.

"It will affect about 1,000 employees ," he said. "

With the re-opening of these restaurants in the coming days after disinfection and cleaning, it is expected that most of the workers will resume work, but about 200 employees will be required to remain at home for two weeks of self-segregation.

"McDonald`s Australia has confirmed that no other employee has yet tested positive for COVID-19," McDonald`s said in a statement last night. "

"However, with caution, after confirming the positive COVID-19 of the Delivery Division, we decided to close 12 restaurants in Virginia and a thorough disinfection and cleaning.

Governor Andrews admits there is a risk of another outbreak as the state reopened after economic, newly-crowned pneumonia was initially contained.

In his speech this morning, he noted, inter alia, that there had been "serious concern" about recent cases of viral infection at McDonald`s in Melbourne, especially when the newly diagnosed truck driver showed no symptoms.

He :" Look, any outbreak, especially from someone completely asymptomatic, is obviously a big problem. "
