Nearly 20 schools in sydney today evacuated students and staff after receiving threat email, involving thousands of students, including those taking the HSC baccalaureate.

Police speaker said at around 11 a.m. on tuesday, an anonymous threat e-mail was sent to a secondary school in sydney's lower north coast, and then at least 18 schools across sydney received similar threat e-mails.

The school implemented an early warning program, evacuated faculty and students and informed the police.

Schools are believed to be affected by e-mail intimidation, including Willebi Girls' Middle School (Willoughby Girls High School), Castle Hill Middle School (Castle Hill High School), Thomas Redell Middle School (Thomas Reddall High School) and Jamison Middle School (Jamison High School) on the north bank of Sydney.

Police speaker said no injuries had been reported and the investigation was ongoing.

It is reported that the police sent a large number of district police and experts to the schools for a wide range of searches, but as of 5 pm today, no suspicious items were found.

While the current incident seems to be a false alarm, thousands of students were forced to interrupt HSC classroom while taking HSC exams, one of the most important days of their schooling.

Many students told the media that they had failed to complete the exam.

Gart (Josh Gatt), a 12th-grade student at Castle Hill Middle School, told the media :" A lot of people react at first that it's not possible to be true ," and "most people worry about the impact. "
